Functional Rehabilitation
Primal Movement Training.
Our bodies were designed to squat, lunge, push, pull, twist and bend. Current trends in our society have moved away from movement toward a sedentary lifestyle (computer, couch, car, etc.).This disharmony has led to the many chronic pain conditions we see on a daily basis. Once you have attained a stronger structural foundation in your spine and posture we progress you through a series of movement training to learn these primal movement patterns and how to apply them to everyday life. Each individual is progressed at their own pace.
Foundational Footwork.
Foot and ankle strength and stability are the most overlooked aspects when trying to improve posture (spine and posture rehabilitation). This concept stems from the idea that we have sufficiently weakened and decreased the feedback/forward mechanisms of our feet and ankles from being in shoes constantly from the inception of walking. Yes…we make you take your shoes off! Our foundational footwork program (fondly called pipes and poles) helps strengthen the feet ankles and entire kinetic chain leading up to the spine.
Core Activation Yoga.
Our coaching feedback-based yoga helps the practitioner learn the proper areas of stimulation and thought patterns to achieve core strength and postural awareness.
Multiplanar Training.
Movement can be broken down into three planes of motion: sagital (front to back), transverse (twisting) and frontal (side to side). Traditional rehabilitation and training is limited because the approach is typically in one dimension of movement (sagital). Our movement training assures you have efficiency of movement in all planes of motion. Multiplanar movement assimilates real life movement.
